The Peer Liason program helps Yale first years navigate the beginning of college with the help of trained upper class mentors who are affiliated with both residential colleges and cultural centers and communities within Yale, including the Chaplain’s Office. Read more about the Peer Liaison program here. See below for a list of the Chaplain’s Office’s Peer Liasons.

📜: Neuroscience
Haerat is a sophomore in Saybrook College. The best college. SAY WHAT?!? She looks forward to being a peer liaison for the chaplain’s office. She loves reading, journaling, and cooking in her spare time. Over the summer she rediscovered her love of traveling through a study abroad in Amsterdam. She absolutely loved her first year at Yale, all the community she found, and all the side quests she went on. She can’t wait to show the incoming first years the best parts of Yale.

Emma is a junior from Champaign, Illinois. On campus, she’s involved in public health initiatives and research, and in her spare time, you’ll find her turning over obscure corners of Yale’s Jewish music scene (ask her about nigun circle!), taking long walks around New Haven, studying in the Divinity School, and playing Bananagrams with her suitemates. She’s so excited to support her PLees through all the highs and lows of starting college, especially when it comes to settling into and living in religious communities that might look different from home.

Lauren is a Senior in Timothy Dwight College from Ridgefield, CT. On campus, she plays the flute in the Yale Symphony Orchestra and the Yale Undergraduate Chamber Orchestra. She has also performed in the Yale Concert Band, the Collegium Musicum, and pit ensembles for student musicals. Her hobbies include hot yoga, bible study, and attending musicals, plays, and operas. Gian Lombeyda (he/him/his)

Gian is a Sophomore from Los Angeles, California who has dedicated his life to storytelling through scriptwriting, sports analytics and bread baking. When he’s not writing, you can find him attempting to recreate pop-rock beats on the drums, or—more often—analyzing local and international soccer games. Growing up as the representative of his Hindu faith at the local interfaith group, he is passionate about learning about all faiths and spiritualities. He would love to offer support as a friend and religious peer to first-years as they navigate Yale!
