Auguste is a member of the New Haven Zen Center sangha and is on the Board of Directors. He has practiced meditation for over 25 years. He took 5 precepts in the Kwan Um School of Zen in 2008. He is a Professor Emeritus of Medicine at Yale School of Medicine.
