Reverend and Lead Pastor, Elm City Vineyard

Josh serves as the Pastor of the Elm City Vineyard Church - a dynamic, diverse, and urban church that meets downtown in the heart of New Haven, CT. Josh is passionate about building reconciling communities that lead strongly, collaborate effectively, and cultivate a spirit of family. It is Josh’s joy to see this play out in New Haven, a city rich with opportunities for peace, justice, and unity.

Josh arrived in New Haven as a college student in 2004, and he could never have anticipated being in New Haven more than a decade later. In college, Josh majored in American Studies and Ethnicity, Race & Migration. He also founded several groups championing faith, social justice, and the inclusion of people of color and other marginalized groups on campus. After college, Josh went on to Yale Divinity School and received an M.Div. During this time, Josh became Elm City Vineyard’s first intern, revitalized an outreach church that walks with the homeless called Agape, and started multiple prayer groups on Yale’s undergrad campus.

In the late spring of 2011, Josh was ordained as a pastor in the Vineyard, graduated from YDS, and was married to his lovely wife, Tina. Then, he worked for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship doing campus ministry at Yale and as a co-pastor at Elm City Vineyard before becoming ECV’s first full-time pastor in 2014. In addition to his beloved family, Josh loves Star Wars, superheroes, and big dreams.
